The way this scene had me in a chokehold as a kid, ugh. The little angel wings and white outfits, the pastries and evidence of baking and indulging, the glowing lights and the tattered, detailed spell book. Sally's natural talent for witchcraft, and lighting the candle by gently blowing on it. All of it was so spell binding. I loved how it ended with Sally saying that she hoped to never fall in love and Jilly saying that shouldn't couldn't wait. I think Sally understands how scary loving someone that deeply actually is, the danger of it, of being that vulnerable with someone, of investing youself into another. To know the weight of that at such a young age and not romanticize it whatsoever is, I think, rare.
