Cascading Minutes is a deconstruction of time. Using found and thrifted clocks and watches that are broken and frozen at the 11th hour and 11th minute. Lavender deconstructed these elements and pieced them back together using wiring techniques to create layers of gemstones and chains, connecting threads of time together, like a map of every timeline that connects and converges. Time is a construct and quantum physics suggests that there are multiple timelines. Not just the reality that we are experiencing now. Time is a construct, an illusion, another thing we have pointed at and given a name to make sense of this world. This piece invites you to rethink the concept of linear time.
