At first glance, The Fool Card probably feels like a bad omen. Getting called foolish hardly feels like a compliment, until you think about all the things that ordinary, un-whimsical cynics would call foolish: falling in love too quickly, quitting your steady, reliable job to pursue your passion, selling your house and all your belongings to live abroad or in a camper van and anything in the pursuit of happiness that goes against the norm.
The Fool is basically a trust fall with the universe, the beginning of something magical and unexpected. Fools rush in with infinite possibilities and playful aura. Sure, it might end catastrophically, but on your death bed you won’t care about the things you did do, you’re much more apt to regret everything you didn’t… so be a fool. Rush in, without thinking it through. Make a mistake for God’s sake and follow your heart right off a cliff if that’s what lifts you.
