I'm not really sure why I felt too old for Halloweentown when it came out in 1998, because I was only ten years old at the time, but I did. I have this theory though, that the younger we are, the older and wiser we feel, and the older we are, the more we feel like we don't know a thing and that we feel so young at heart. 

I just remember it being one of those movies that felt like a guilty pleasure. Maybe my older sister made fun of me? Who knows. But, I loved it. I loved when Marnie said "But I'm a witch, I can't just not be one." As a sensitive girlie who has been told all her life, that she is too much, too dramatic, too loud, too emotional and too opinionated; this line really hit me. I can't help how I feel. I am who I am. I think girls especially need to be like Marnie in the sense that they stay true to who they are. 

Do not make yourself quieter, dimmer, more digestible for the comfortability of others. If you feel lke you are too much, you are surrounding yourself with people who should go find less, and you my darling witch, should go find so much more, so that you can express yourself in your most authentic manner.
