I think that I romanticized the idea of being in love that I was more enamoured with the potential of it all, rather than what was right in front of me. I think that I grew up confusing the difference between longing, yearning, love and safety. I think as an adult I view them all as such a nuanced experiences that sometimes overlap but I see myself in Jilly.
